International: the New Foreign

When D Street decided to get involved in the distribution of foreign language films we thought about shaking things up a bit. We wanted to reinvent the genre as a whole and help these wonderful films reach a broader audience in the US.  First, we needed to drop the word foreign and replace it with a more user friendly word like international. Our belief is that we are more alike than not alike and foreign makes us sound just so alien to one another. The stories are coming from different places but human condition is the same everywhere. So we enlisted a few friends of D Street’s to talk about their favorite international film and these little vignettes are the result of that conversation.
